Waterfall Schools is an affordable independent school based on the beautiful iThemba Campus in Hillcrest, KwaZulu-Natal. Founded on Christian principles, this educational hub brings together a rich heritage of learning with innovative thinking and a commitment to community empowerment. The schools welcome children from 12 months to Grade 12 and have seen exceptional growth in recent years.
Waterfall Pre-Primary has been caring for children in the local area for over 30 years and moved to the iThemba Campus in 2016. Contemporary facilities and child-centric staff provide a home away from home, where children are able to play, learn and grow together.
2017 saw the first Foundation Phase classes open at Waterfall Preparatory, with the Intermediate Phase following in 2018. Passionate staff are constantly asking ‘why’ and strive to provide a peaceful environment in which children are free to be themselves, unearthing the treasure in every child.
Waterfall College has been a feature of the campus since 2010 and has established itself as a top-quality institution, accredited by ISASA, Umalusi and IQAA. Experienced specialist teachers offer expert tuition in a supportive environment, with a range of sporting and cultural activities, and a focus on developing well-rounded young adults who can be positive influencers in our society.
The children enjoy a range of sports and extra-curricular activities and the Schools’ facilities continue to grow.
Waterfall Schools works closely with its NPO partner, Focus on iThemba, to grow hearts and minds by investing in children through quality education, resulting in life-altering positive change. Focus on iThemba has committed to investing in education through its extensive Early Childhood Development initiatives, the iThemba Scholars Programme (through which two children per year are offered a donor-funded scholarship to attend Waterfall Schools) and by creating the space for Waterfall Schools to grow the thrive.
